Burgmeier’s Hauling owns and operates one of only two licensed transfer stations in Blair County Pennsylvania.
The Blair County Resource Recovery Facility Located at 1356 Old Sixth Avenue Road in Altoona Pennsylvania, our transfer station provides a much needed service to the area.
The facility provides an affordable outlet for disposal to other independent waste haulers that service the local communities. While we are in the business ourselves, we pride ourselves in working with other haulers who have their own loyal customer base. We believe in working together to better serve our communities.
In addition to licensed haulers, we also provide the general public a local affordable outlet to dispose of unwanted materials. We allow the public to bring in bulk items, truck loads and more for disposal. By transporting their waste to us themselves and paying a reasonable dumping fee, individuals can save themselves hundreds of dollars in container and transportation costs. All while being assured that they are responsibly disposing of their waste.
Examples of acceptable waste would be household debris, construction or remodeling waste, bulk furniture items.
Rates, hours of operation, & contact info
Our current public rates are:
- $110 per ton
- $55 per half ton or less
Operating Hours: Monday through Friday 7 am to 3pm (must scale in by 2:45) and Saturday 6 am to 11:30 am (must scale in by 11:15)

Did you know, Burgmeier’s also has a convenient recycling drop-off center located at the transfer station? Accepting most common recyclable materials, #1 and #2 plastics, clear and colored glass, tin, aluminum, newspaper, office paper, cardboard and more. Stop by to find out more ways you can recycle.
