Who WE ARE
Serving you since 1976.
A FAMILY BUSINESS
Founded in 1976 by our company President, Dave Burgmeier, our roots are as a one man one truck trash service operation. Today, Burgmeier’s Hauling is a full-service waste disposal company with a fleet of over 55 trucks and 125 employees. Serving families, small businesses, corporations, municipalities and government facilities in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia.
Dave still leads the way, supported by his son Matt Burgmeier as Vice President, as well as his son-in-law Jeff Sanders acting as Director of Operations.

Yesterday, Today & Beyond
After 46 years in business, we have become your local experts in garbage collection, recycling, shredding and more. We have not forgotten our roots and consider ourselves to be the same small family run business we have always been.
In addition to our own hauling operations, we own and operate the Blair County Resource Recovery Facility, a licensed transfer station for haulers and a drop-off site for residential customers. We support other local independent haulers by giving them an alternative disposal site.
Our core values have always been centered around providing a quality service at a reasonable price. To that end we are constantly looking into emerging technologies to improve our efficiencies, our quality of service, and our environmental footprint. We attempt to do all of this while expanding our service offerings and keeping our rates competitive.
As an example, we have built compressed natural gas filling station, while converting our fleet of trucks in Blair county over to clean burning natural gas.
Likewise, our trucks are outfitted with an array of technology to improve our services. The trucks have all digital routing, cameras to monitor collections, real time GPS tracking and weight reporting.
In 2022 we will be completing the areas first fully automated recycling facility, capable of sorting and processing multiple tons per hour of mixed recycling. We hope to reduce the volume of waste going to the landfill in all of our areas, and hope that by funding this facility we will encourage other independent haulers to expand or offer recycling services as well. We will be collecting and processing recycling from the tri-state area through this new facility.
As we continue to grow, we pledge to continue to improve while never forgetting where we come from and the people who we serve.
