Automated Cart Placement
- PLACE CART AT THE CURB WITH LID CLOSED FACING THE STREET
- LEAVE AT LEAST 3 FEET BETWEEN THE CART AND ANY OBJECT
- ALL TRASH MUST BE IN THE CART.
- TRASH COLLECTED OUTSIDE OF THE CART WILL BE ASSESED AN EXTRA FEE ON YOUR NEXT INVOICE.
- LEAVE A CLEAR PATH TO THE CART
Want to change your cart size?
If after using your Burgmeier’s cart for several months, you decide you want a smaller size, you will be able to swap out sizes one time. Please notify CCRRA by September 30th that you would like to make a change. Carts are expected to be exchanged in the 3rd Quarter of 2025. You may switch to a larger cart size anytime between April 1st and September 30th. ADDITIONAL CARTS CAN BE ORDERED AT ANYTIME.
What can go in my cart?
• All bagged weekly household refuse
• Additional items headed to the landfill that fit in the cart
What can’t go in my cart?
• E-waste (TV’s, PC’s, printers, cell phones)
• Car or Truck tires
• Leaves, brush, tree or grass clippings
• Rechargeable, lithium, or lead batteries
• Household hazardous materials
• Liquid paints
• Motor oil, anti-freeze, and gasoline
• Stones and concrete
• Heavy demolition or construction debris
• ANY Recyclables
• Radioactive medical waste or needles not properly prepared via 7-day hold time and/or proper needle containment

Details on what to do with your old garbage can will be included with your first invoice from Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority.
